Curriculum
Leni Verhofstadt-Denève is em. Gew. Hoogleraar in de theoretische en klinische ontwikkelingspsychologie aan
de Faculteit Psychologie en Pedagogische Wetenschappen van de Universiteit Gent waar zij o.m. verantwoordelijk was voor de Postuniveritaire Opleiding in de Ontwik-kelingsgerichte en Experiëntiële Kinder- en Jeugd-
psychotherapie.
Naast talrijke bijdragen in nationale en internationale tijdschriften, is zij auteur van een 8-tal boeken hoofdza-kelijk op het terrein van: Theoretische en klinische ontwikkelingspsychologie; Ontwikkelingspsychologisch longitudinaal onderzoek; Adolescentiepsychologie en didactisch en klinisch Psychodrama.
Zij is Stichter-directeur van de 'School of Experiential-Dialectical Psychodrama' ;
en lid van de Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van België voor Wetenschappen en Kunsten.
Zij was mede-coördinator van en docent in de vierjarige postgraduaatopleiding in de psychotherapie, Optie: Experiëntiële en Ontwikkelingsgerichte Kinder- en Jeugdpsychotherapie (Universiteit Antwerpen), die met ingang van het acj 07-08 de Gentse postuniversitaire opleiding vervangt.
In 2010: Verkozen tot Psycholoog van het jaar door de oudstudenten Psychologie van de Universiteit Gent
en tot Erelid van de Nederlands-Belgische Vereniging voor Psychodrama ( VVP).
Verkreeg in 2014 van de Academie voor Integratieve Psychologie en Psychotherapie (AIP) en de Belgisch-Nederlandse Vereniging (BNVIP) de Abraham Maslow Award voor de meest grensverleggende psychotherapeut in Vlaanderen.
In 1917 ontving zij van FEPTO (Federation of European Psychodrama Training Organisations), een “Life Time Achievement Award” for outstanding performance and lasting contributions to Psychodrama.

Leni Verhofstadt-Denève (PhD) is professor emeritus (since 2006) in Theoretical and Clinical Developmental Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogical Sciences (Ghent University).
Apart from numerous contributions to national and inter-national journals, she has written eight books, mainly on theoretical and clinical developmental psychology, longitudinal research, adolescence psychology, and didactical and clinical psychodrama.
She is founder and director of the School of Experiential-Dialectical Psychodrama;
and a member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts.
She coordinated the four year postgraduate psychotherapy training, option: Experiential and Developmental Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Ghent University and University of Antwerp).
